Hook 42 at New England Drupal Camp

We're super excited to attend New England Drupal Camp this year!

Aimee is honored to have been invited to be the keynote speaker this year. She'll be discussing inclusion and diversity in the community. In addition to Aimee's keynote, we are partnering up with our longtime friends at Lingotek to put together a hands-on multilingual workshop that covers Drupal 8 and an integration to Lingotek's Translation Management System.

Just in case that wasn't enough, we're also presenting a couple of sessions. One comparing the madness of the multilingual modules on Drupal 7 to the new and improved Drupal 8 multilingual approach. We will be presenting another session covering how ANYONE and EVERYONE can help contribute back to the Drupal project even if they aren't the most advance technical person

October Accessibility (A11Y) Talks

This month we had Nicolas Steenhout joining us to talk about "Accessibility: Don't turn off that JavaScript just yet."

The year is 2017, and JavaScript has never been as ubiquitous. Long gone are the days when in order to be considered accessible, pages had to work flawlessly without scripting. Scripting has also come a long way, and developers are now even leveraging the powers of JavaScript to rewrite content in order to make it more accessible to assistive technologies.

Hook 42's BADCamp 2017 Takeaways

This year at BADCamp we had the opportunity to share in thought leadership by leading a training, participating in the DevOps Summit, and presenting 5 sessions with topics ranging from accessibility, git, project management, A/B testing, and contributing to the Drupal issue queue.

Continuing in the spirit of thought leadership, we also want to share with the whole Drupal community our takeaways, thoughts, and excitement about the new ideas and technologies we learned at BADCamp.

September A11Y (Accessibility) Talk Review

We have all heard about website accessibility and know what it means in a broad sense, but what does website accessibility look like in a practical sense?

This month’s A11Y Talk featured Scott O'Hara from The Paciello Group. In this A11Y Talk, Scott O'Hara addressed questions like:
- How do I get started in a11y?
- How do I get my team to care about it?
- Where does one start in trying to incorporate a11y into the work they or their team produce?
- Who is in charge of a11y at your company anyway?
